No place is perfect, but Santa Cruz is the best place if you have to live in the Bay Area. Neighbors here commute to Google and Stanford. Santa Cruz offers a better quality of life, lower population density, and your choice of surfing, cycling, and giant redwoods. Great music scene with both a symphony and local jazz hub, a lively arts community, and plenty of destinations for foodies. What, then, is not perfect? Brace yourself for overpriced real estate. But isn’t that the case everywhere in 2022?
